The Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) was activated after the liberation in 1945 when the Military Police Command stationed in Poblacion, Sta Cruz, Laguna was organized. A COLONEL NAY is the first Unit Commander. It took responsibility in preserving the peace and order situation of the entire province from the time of its activation up to the later part of 1950 and was named Laguna Provincial Command.
In May 1959, the Command expanded into three (3) Philippine Constabulary (PC) companies: the 133rd, strategically located PHQ,in Sta Cruz, the 134th in Los Baños, and 135th in Pangil, and in February 15, 1960, the Laguna Provincial Command was redesignated as Laguna PC Command under the jurisdiction of the IV PC Zone based in Camp Vicente Lim, Canlubang, in Calamba. In March 6, 1963, the camp was transferred in its present location at Brgy Bagumbayan. The three (3) PC companies were also re-organized and renamed, the 223rd based in the Provincial Hqs, the 224th based in Los Banos, the 226th based in Brgy Bitin, Bay, Laguna. Two (2) more companies were also organized, the 228th, established on August 16, 1981 and based in Brgy Mendiola, Siniloan, Laguna and the 229th, established on September 21, 1988 and based in Luisiana, Laguna.
On January 1, 1991, upon establishment of the PNP, the Laguna PC Command was redesignated as the Laguna Philippine National Police Command. Four (4) Police Districts were also organized and the five (5) PC companies were renamed in to Mobile Force Companies (MFCs). The Laguna PNPC was later renamed Laguna Provincial Police Command in July 1994.
On June 17, 2011, a monument of Heneral Paciano Rizal was inaugurated and the camp was named Camp HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL, in his honor at Brgy Bagumbayan, Sta Cruz, this province. In attendance during that unforgettable date were the Regional Director, PRO CALABARZON, PCSUPT GIL C MENESES, LPPO Provincial Director, PSSUPT GILBERTO DC CRUZ, together with Honorobale Governor, JEORGE ER EJERCITO ESTREGAN of Laguna Province and Heneral Paciano Rizal’s descendants led by JOSE RIZAL LOPEZ and other members of the family.
